Hope for happy hips
A little bit about me
Hi there! My name is Jenna and I am the unfortunate recipient of really awful anatomy. Specifically, I was born with Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI) and Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) or just simply, Hip Dysplasia.
When I started this blog, I was a first year Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) student at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Being an athlete all my life, I was inspired to pursue a career in sports medicine and rehabilitation. Little did I know that when I was beginning this journey, I would also be beginning another one... of my own physical rehabilitation. Following graduation, I completed residency training in orthopedics at University of Utah Healthcare... while managing Avascular Necrosis in the same hip. I am now out of residency and truly beginning my career- on crutches once again, 1 week out from yet another hip scope. I hope that by sharing the great hip saga from the unique perspective of a physical therapist, I can help others through their own journey to finding happy hips as well. |
